This small seaside village has a big heart which is showcased through its strong community spirit and great selection of artisan shops, cafes, pubs and eateries (of the 3,250 noted restaurants in Hampshire, Milford boasts the 4th top spot for 'Verviene', and 6th for 'La Perle')!

Just a short stroll from Milford's village centre you will find a pebbled beach lined with quintessentially British beach huts. With a beautiful coastal vista of the Isle of Wight and the Needles, many visitors enjoy the 1.5 mile walk along Hurst Spit leading to Hurst Castle (where Charles I famously spent his last days imprisoned before his execution!) where a 360 degree of the spectacular view awaits.

The Solent Way footpath connects Milford to Lymington as salt marshes, mud flats and reeds line the way. This beautiful 5-mile stretch passes through a nature reserve and area of outstanding natural beauty which also showcases a huge variety of plants and birds.

Milford's vibrant village plays host to a variety of events throughout the year which are well worth looking out for, and if you want to venture further afield, the New forest Tour Bus runs during the Summer season connecting Milford to the rest of the New Forest National Park.

Hurst Castle
Hurst

Built by Henry VIII in 1544, was one of a chain of coastal fortresses, and is located at the end of a shingle spit which extends 1.5 miles from Milford-on-Sea. The end of the spit is only 0.75 miles from the Isle of Wight. Access is either on foot, or by ferry from Keyhaven.
